Bill Russo, who grew up in Exton, has been a busy man for the last several months, working hard on Joe Biden’s presidential campaign as his deputy communications director, writes Julia Terruso for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Russo, a Malvern Prep graduate, has been Biden’s spokesperson for the last two years. Prior to that, he served as an adviser to Biden’s national security team and an associate director of administration in the Office of the Vice President.

For Russo, joining Biden’s presidential campaign was an easy decision.

“I’ve seen him inspire big crowds at rallies, but also seen him quietly comforting grieving families away from the cameras,” said Russo. “He is in public who he is in private, which is authentic, sincere, and an incredibly decent human being.”

However, if Biden was not in the race, Russo said he would like to be working for the Philadelphia Flyers.

“Maybe run the Gritty social media account,” he said.

And as far as Pennsylvania voters go, Russo believes Biden needs no help reaching voters.

“He knows the state,” he said. “This is a place where people really value authenticity and sincerity.”
