Kennett Square might be known as the Mushroom Capital of the World, but it has much more to offer to its residents and visitors, according to Philadelphia magazine.

The Chester County locale that is responsible for producing nearly half of the nation’s mushroom crop has been named the best shopping destination in the Philadelphia suburbs.

The town’s eclectic shopping lineup offers something for everyone, from clothing and jewelry to art and unusual gifts and more.

Among the numerous options is Penny Lane Emporium, a chic shop for children with lots of fun items in its inventory.

Meanwhile, nearby Marché offers bohemian homewares, while Clean Slate Goods is an eco-boutique offering ceramics, totes, and apothecary items.

For much-needed breaks in shopping, Kennett Square has plenty of cafés, as well as numerous dining options.

All of this and much more can be found on State Street, making Kennett Square a must for shopping in the region.
