Jenni Autry

Jenni Autry, a Kennett Square resident and the managing editor of Eventing Nation, has been appointed Managing Director of Eventing by the U.S. Equestrian Federation, according to a report from TAP into Horses.

Autry has already started transitioning into the role she will officially assume on Aug. 10. To be able to completely devote herself to the new position, Autry will cease all journalistic responsibilities and her freelance roles with other organizations.

“We are very excited to welcome Jenni to the eventing Managing Director role, and (she’s) very conscious of what a huge role she will be taking on,” said Will Connell, the USEF’s Director of Sport, adding that she “has all the professional and personal skills necessary to take this role on.”

In addition to running the senior eventing team and elite program, Autry will have to be a leader in a variety of other areas as part of her new role. She will have to develop effective working relationships with numerous stakeholders within and outside the USEF.

“As I close the door on my journalism career, I am excited to become the USEF Managing Director of Eventing,” said Autry, who will relocate to Lexington, Ky.
