The Philadelphia Foundation Centennial Mural Project is partnership between Mural Arts Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Foundation that heralds the latter organization’s next century of impact and celebrates its commitment to philanthropy in the region for the last 100 years.

As part of the project, a free community workshop will be held at the Brandywine Center, located at 744 East Lincoln Highway in Coatesville, on Tuesday, July 9 from 5-7 PM.

The theme of the workshop is “Nature in the Community.”

Participants will discuss the importance of nature in their communities and explore what nature means to them, individually and collectively. This will inform the art created around the nature they see in their everyday lives that impacts them. Individuals will learn basic mosaic skills and will walk away with a permanent mosaic.

Supplies, instruction, and refreshments will be provided. No experience is necessary.
