Exton native Drew Taylor has been promoted to director of athletic communications at Immaculata University, where he had been serving as assistant director.

During his time at Immaculata, Taylor has dramatically increased the visibility of the 23 varsity sports teams, coaches, and players using various social media to attract new followers and working with local media members. He will expand upon these duties as director and will supervise an assistant director of sports information.

Taylor graduated from Downingtown East High School before earning his undergraduate degree in communication studies from the University of Lynchburg in Virginia in 2016. As a student, he played centerfield for the baseball team and worked in the sports information office.

After college, Taylor secured a position as athletic communications assistant for the University of Pennsylvania, where he served as the primary contact for Penn’s baseball, sprint football, women’s soccer, and men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams.

Since 2016, Taylor has gained invaluable media relations experience as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles’ public relations game-day staff, facilitating media requests and coordinating post-game interviews, among other duties.

“I am excited to continue to build on to what I have contributed to Immaculata University athletics over the last year and a half,” said Taylor. “I am looking forward to the upcoming academic year and what it has to offer in my new role.”

“We are excited to have Drew lead our sports information department,” said Patricia Canterino, vice president for student development and engagement. “Drew has done an outstanding job promoting our student-athletes, especially through social media. He brings a lot to our program and we are fortunate to have him on our staff.”
