Teens Jumpstart Their Careers with Summer Academies

By

The Chester County Economic Development Council’s STEM Innovation Summer Academies provide unique, hands-on learning experiences for the next generation of healthcare, technology and engineering professionals.

The summer programs, which kick off the week of June 24, are designed by the CCEDC to provide career exploration and industry skills to develop the next generation of leaders these STEM fields.

In the various academies, students earn industry-standard certificates, experience hands-on learning with business and industry leaders who become mentors, learn how to launch virtual businesses, discover how robotics and engineering are entwined in their daily lives, and gain relevant training to enhance their college applications.

CCEDC launched their STEM Innovation Summer Academies in 2017 when it offered just a single one-week opportunity for youth interested in health care.  Now it its 3rd year, the academies have grown to 11 separate opportunities and enrollment has increased by 735%.

All but one of the academies in the health care track have sold out for the year but registration is still open for some programs.  Reach out to CCEDC to learn how to save on select Tech & Engineering academies – please email Marrea Walker-Smith at mwalker-smith@ccedcpa.com
