The Arc of Chester County, a human services nonprofit serving children and adults with disabilities, recently raised more than $100,000 at its annual Arc Achievement Run, Walk & Fun Day.

More than 350 walkers, runners, and volunteers participated in the event hosted at The Arc of Chester County’s facility in West Chester.

This year’s event marked the first Bubble Walk, which was sponsored by The Arc’s Preschool Program. Bubble machines were placed along the one-mile walking course for walkers to enjoy.

The Downingtown Dominators kicked off the event with a cheer. Event participants enjoyed music from D.J. Kevin Welde, a selfie station sponsored by Cookie Cutters, face-painting, and Fractured Prune donuts following the run and walk.

“The support that the community has provided to this event and our organization has been incredible,” said Jeanne Meikrantz, the Executive Director of The Arc of Chester County. “We are grateful for the many local businesses who sponsored the event or donated resources and materials, as well as the many individual donors, teams, and volunteers from across the area who donated their time, talent, and treasure to make this event a success.”

Meikrantz thanked WSFS, the event’s title sponsor for its ongoing support.

“The work we do is only possible because of our community partners,” she said. “We are extremely thankful for their ongoing support.”

“WSFS is proud to be a corporate partner of The Arc of Chester County and thanks the board members, staff, and volunteers for providing important services to individuals with disabilities in Chester County,” said Vernita Dorsey of WSFS Bank.

Funding from the event supports The Arc’s programs and services that serve 3,000 individuals with disabilities and their families in Chester County and the surrounding community.
