The Route 30 Bypass will soon be getting electronic safety signs in Coatesville, along with Caln, Valley, and West Sadsbury townships, writes Fran Maye for the Daily Local News.

Construction on the $5.8 million project to install Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Intelligent Transportation Systems along the route is expected to start in the next several weeks.

“Statewide infrastructure improvements don’t only have a positive impact on mobility, but economies as well,” said Gov. Tom Wolf. “I look forward to continuing these vital investments in 2019 and beyond.”

In addition to Intelligent Transportation System improvements for an 11-mile corridor of Route 30, the project will also include the installation of these improvements on Business Route 30 from Route 82 in Coatesville. Also, ITS improvements will be installed at the roadway segments of Airport Road and Route 340 from Business Route 30 to the Route 30 Bypass.

The goal of the project is to improve traffic operation on mentioned routes. However, ITS warns motorists of accidents on the road ahead, poor road conditions, and detours and provides other communication to motorists.
