Doylestown-based Covenant Bank has entered the competitive Main Line market with a new Paoli branch that complements its loan production office there, writes Jeff Blumenthal for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The new branch at 1500 East Lancaster Avenue is on the ground floor of the building that houses the bank’s loan office. The branch will be open weekdays from 9 AM-1 PM. And, according to Covenant Bank president and COO Blair Rush, customers will be able to make after-hours appointments.

“We have a strong small business customer base, and this complements our existing relationships,” said Rush. “I think it also shows our commitment to the community.”

For now, the bank will hire three people for the new location. But Rush said that, over time, the branch could expand its hours and move to a more visible location.

Rush joined Covenant three years ago as a part of a five-person lending team. That same year, the bank entered the Chester County lending market by adding two industry veterans, Jay Power and Meghan Yarnall.

With this latest addition, Covenant now has nine commercial lenders among its 50-employee team and nearly $400 million in loans.
