Richie Graham, a minority owner of the Philadelphia Union and the founder of YSC Academy in Wayne, is using photography to help protect the environment, writes Melissa Jacobs for Main Line Today.

Graham’s enthusiasm for American soccer is well known, but he has been significantly less public about his photography. Realizing he was interested in camerawork 10 years ago, he followed through. But it was three years before he showed anyone his work.Top Rated Pet Insurance

After his niece introduced him to Instagram four years ago, he started posting his pictures. Soon after, people started buying prints of his work.

“That was wonderful, but I felt that I was doing it halfway,” he said.

So, he became a photographic ambassador for the nonprofit 1% For The Planet in November. The organization pairs eco-minded donors with groups working on conservation projects around the globe.

Using his new website, Graham now sells prints of his photographs for anywhere between $200 and $3,490. All of the profits go to groups funded by 1% For The Planet.

Later this year, Graham also plans to travel the world to document various conservation efforts for fundraising, awareness campaigns, and social media.
