West Chester Designer, Mother of Four Makes Her Mark at New York Fashion Week

West Chester resident Deborah Mack, the visionary behind DAM Fashions, wowed audiences with her women’s clothing line at New York Fashion Week earlier this month, writes Elizabeth Wellington for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Mack presented at one of the off-site venues that are more easily accessible to independent designers.

The mother of four presented her tailored jumpsuits, strapless cocktail mini dresses, off-the-shoulder gowns, and fitted pantsuits. These included stylish colors – such as mustard yellow, black, and white – designed to appeal to the serious side of women’s fashion.

“DAM is a luxury brand for women who think outside the box,” said Mack.

She worked for the state of Connecticut’s judicial department for two decades, before deciding to give her passion a try.

“I went to Drexel and Moore and took an online fashion program, Factory 45,” she said.

Now, she finds new ideas from various international styles.

“When I travel to places like Rome or Peru, I’m inspired by the things that I see,” Mack said.

She anticipates most of her pieces to be available in the spring of 2019.
