Main Line Animal Rescue in Chester Springs Says ‘Adopt, Don’t Shop’
One the goals of the Main Line Animal Rescue (MLAR) in Chester Springs is to save dogs from puppy mills and to eliminate the systemic issues that lead to animal abuse and pet homelessness, reports Matt O’Donnell for 6ABC.
The animal rescue, which sits on 60 acres, has a simple motto: “Adopt, Don’t Shop.” If you’re thinking about getting a puppy or an adult dog, MLAR recommends going to your local shelter or animal rescue.
“All of our dogs go for walks twice a day, or they go out into the fields in playgroups or play with the big balls that are in the field,” said Susan Chew, Interim Executive Director.

MLAR has teamed up with the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PSPCA) to save animal lives.
At the MLAR property, volunteers walk, play with, and train dogs in fenced pastures and on walking trails. It also has a Kitty Clubhouse from which cats can safely glimpse bird life from a screened porch.
The property also houses a veterinary clinic staffed with professionals.
