Village Play Space in Berwyn offers an indoor space for children to play while adults either join them or relax in the seating area with free Wi-Fi and complimentary coffee, writes Monica Sager for the Daily Local News.
“We are looking to provide a place where different members of the community can interact,” said owner Sara Martino.
Martino, a special education teacher for 10 years, decided she needed a change after her maternity leave and opened Village Play Space a month ago.
At Village Play Space, children and their caregivers can connect with their neighbors as part of “Play by Day” designed for children ages six and younger.

This gives children the opportunity to play in three different settings, such as a bakery, firehouse, or ice cream shop.
Village Play Space also offers family-friendly happy hours to give adults who cannot come between 9 AM and 3 PM an opportunity to join the fun and interact with their kids.
“Every two weeks, we change what the shops are,” said Martino, “so when the kids come they can have a different experience each time.”
