Aquaria, a 22-year-old native of West Chester otherwise known as Giovanni Palandrani, has been crowned the winner of Season 10 of RuPaul’s Drag Race on VH1, writes Emily Rolen for PhillyVoice.

Aquaria is the youngest winner in the competition’s history. Throughout the season, she displayed a number of show-stopping looks, with her impression of Melania Trump drawing the most praise. She also won the highest number of challenges with her runway performances.

“I’m so blessed to have family that’s so supportive of my choices,” said Aquaria. “Just to be able to accept the crown in New York City, I couldn’t imagine it anywhere else, and I couldn’t be more grateful about making my city proud.”

Before participating in the show, Aquaria already had a strong following on the New York City club scene, but now, she has amassed more than 800,000 followers on Instagram.
