Wayne resident Jeff Boujoukos has taken fandom to a new level with his amazing collection of baseball bats from the Boston Red Sox, according to a report in The Boston Globe.

Boujoukos, who serves as Director of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s regional office in Philadelphia, has 757 bats, each of which tells a story.

All of the bats are unique in their own way. While some are still sticky from pine tar, another was broken by a fastball fired 50 years ago. Almost all are game-used and the collection includes bats of all sizes and colors.

In fact, Red Sox curator Sarah Coffin recently borrowed some of the bats from Boujoukos, to display them in the Royal Rooters Club.

Boujoukos owns a bat from almost every Red Sox position player since 1960. His first bat was a Mike Brumley model that had misspelled the player’s name. He also owns a Boston Strong bat from Jonny Gomes that has the names of the four people who died in the Boston Marathon bombings.

“I like history, I love the Red Sox, I love collecting,” said Boujoukos, “and this combines all those things.”
