In 2016, Longwood Gardens, the treasure of Chester County, was determined to be the Best Botanical Garden in the United States by voters in a USA Today and 10Best.com contest.

Now, the voting window has opened for the 2018 contest, and the 1,077-acre attraction in Kennett Square needs your help in maintaining its status as one of the Best Botanical Gardens in the country.

“More than a million visitors stroll the exquisite grounds of Longwood Gardens each year, and it’s easy to see why,” 10Best.com wrote.

“Indoor spaces, like the tropical Conservatory and the Orchid House with its 500 fragrant plants, offer a slice of spring throughout the year and always have something blooming. The Flower Garden Walk, a springtime favorite, takes visitors through Longwood’s first (and very colorful) flower garden.”

Longwood Gardens’ aim to inspire people through excellence in garden design, horticulture, education, and the performing arts garnered adoration from USA Today and its readership when the legacy of industrialist Pierre du Pont was named Best Public Garden in North America in 2014.

“Botanical gardens study, protect, exhibit, and teach about plants,” the article noted. “The best gardens boast extensive collections and stunning presentations, making them must-visits in their respective cities.”
