Valley Forge fashion designer, business woman, author, and philanthropists, Tory Burch, ensures that color is always the first thing people notice in her New York Upper East Side home, writes Marianna Cerini for Philippine Tatler.

“Living in full color is my guiding principle, from the way I raise my children to the way I approach my work,” said the author of 2014 book, ‘Tory Burch: In Color’.

This is clearly evident in the designer’s home, where the artfully layered furnishings are in vibrant shades of red, orange, or green.

The home occupies an entire floor of the Pierre, the Fifth Avenue hotel facing Central Park.

It is quite different to the 250-year-old Georgian mansion in Valley Forge that Burch grew up in.

Burch and her family lived in one of the Pierre’s apartments for years before she acquired the entire floor fifteen years ago.

She then worked with architect and interior designer, Daniel Romualdez, to turn the divided spaces into one cohesive home.

“I remember Daniel sketching out the framework for the expansion on a napkin one night over dinner,” she said.
