Malvern native Mikal Bridges, a graduate of Great Valley High School, has decided to forego his final year of college eligibility at Villanova to enter this June’s NBA Draft, writes Adrian Wojnarowski for ESPN.com

He is projected to be a lottery pick, which would guarantee him a multiyear, multimillion-dollar contract.

Bridges, a two-time national champion and the 2018 Julius Erving Award winner as the top small forward in college basketball, redshirted his first year in college and will thus earn his undergraduate degree in May.

As a junior, Bridges averaged 17.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 51 percent shooting, including 43.5 percent on 3-pointers, and led the Wildcats to their second NCAA Tournament title in the last three seasons.

He stands 6-foot-7, possesses a 7-foot-2 wingspan, and can play multiple positions. He’s the prototype for what NBA scouts covet: a versatile defender with size and athleticism who can knock down shots from long range.

“There’s space in the NBA on the floor, and there’s this move toward positionless basketball that I fit into,” Bridges said. “I can shoot the ball. I can defend. I can move without the ball. I’m progressing in my game, getting better through work every day.”
