DNB Financial Corporation
DNB’s Board of Directors has appointed Peter R. Barsz as a director of the company. Barsz is a partner at Barsz Gowie Amon & Fultz, a Chadds Ford-based accounting firm that serves municipal entities, businesses, and individuals throughout Pennsylvania and the Greater Delaware Valley.
He has extensive experience providing management and financial consulting services to governmental and nonprofit entities, and serves as the appointed Treasurer or Finance Director for several townships in Chester and Delaware counties.
“Peter’s management perspective, financial knowledge, and deep community engagement, which includes over a decade on the bank’s Advisory Board, will be of tremendous value to the Board and our management team,” said James H. Thornton, Chairman of the Board.
Citadel
Citadel has hired a new Chief Financial Officer, Anand Solanki, who will replace former CFO Maria Steffy as she enters retirement. It also has promoted Philip Faris to Senior Vice President of Marketing. Faris was formerly the Vice President of Digital Delivery.
Solanki joins Citadel from Discover Financial Services, where he was responsible for Financial Planning and Analysis, Risk, Corporate Strategy and Development, and Capital Markets.

Longwood Fire Company is offering two free CPR classes on Monday, Feb. 19 at the station.
The EMS staff will be conducting the hands-only CPR classes at 4:30 PM and 5:45 PM. The classes are open to the public and are free. Registering for the class is recommended but not necessary. E-mail EMS@longwoodfireco.com to register.
The one-hour session explains causes, prevention, and treatment for sudden cardiac arrest. The classes will be given by ambulance and Chester County Hospital staff who are certified instructors. This is not a full CPR certification course.
Chatham Financial
Alain Tourikian has joined Kennett Square’s Chatham Financial, a global leader in debt and derivatives solutions, as Senior Advisor for Chatham Investment Advisors.
Tourikian will work in the company’s Financial Institutions business practice to grow Chatham Investment Advisors, a registered investment advisor that assists clients with investment portfolio management and treasury advisory.
“Alain brings extensive commercial banking experience with solid problem-solving skills,” said David Sweeney, managing director of Chatham Investment Advisors. “With over three decades of hands-on experience in the community banking space, he possesses an in-depth knowledge of the skills that CFOs at FIs need most.”

He has successfully established a framework and proactive roadmap that are used in a coordinated holistic strategy to manage interest rate risk, liquidity, and market price volatility for any interest rate scenario.
Longwood Gardens
Delaware Valley University and Longwood Gardens have signed an agreement that will provide a new pathway to a bachelor’s degree for high-achieving horticulture students.
Under the agreement, students who graduate from the highly selective Professional Gardener Program offered by Longwood Gardens will be:
- guaranteed admission into Del Val’s horticulture program
- able to transfer credits toward a Del Val bachelor’s degree in horticulture
- eligible for generous transfer scholarships
The Professional Gardener Program is a two-year program offered to students by Longwood Gardens at no cost. The program accepts eight to 10 high school graduates who have at least one year of paid work experience in horticulture. Students prepare for employment as professional horticulturalists in public, private, and commercial horticulture.
