Crowdsourcing bus service OurBus has listened to its customers and expanded into Chester County with daily routes to New York City from West Chester and Malvern, writes Gary Puleo for the Daily Local News.

OurBus founder Narinder Singh said the routes will fill a gap for travelers in Chester County who usually have limited options when it comes to transportation to New York City and the surrounding area.

“We figured out that we could go to Malvern and West Chester,” said co-founder Axel Hellman. “We talked to the West Chester business district and there was a strong interest there, so that’s why we added those stops.”

OurBus, which does not own any buses, partners with other charter bus companies and provides them with its customer-centric technology.

Customers can download the free OurBus app from Google Play or iTunes. They can then use this to purchase tickets and track the movements of their bus, including sharing their estimated time of arrival with others.

Also, “if you buy a ticket on the site, it’s e-mailed to you. That saves time,” said Hellman.

The company is planning to open additional routes in the area after it learns more about people’s travel patterns.
