Vanguard’s fleet of office buildings in Malvern is likely to grow in the near future.

The company is working on a plan to build an additional 180,000- to 240,000-square-foot office, according to a Philadelphia Business Journal report by Jeff Blumenthal.

The announcement for the new expansion was made during Corridors of Opportunity: Route 202 this week by Vanguard Head of Global Corporate Real Estate and Facilities Management Paul Begin.

“We hope to develop our requirements and take things to our board in the fall,” he said. “And see if there’s full commitment to the growth and the capital investment required.”

In recent years, Vanguard has added 2,000 new crew members, boosting its headquarters workforce to 11,000 and filling two of the office buildings that came with 87 acres next door that it bought from Pfizer in 2012.
