Students with interesting business ideas will get an opportunity to compete for cash prizes, thanks to Penn State Great Valley’s inaugural Student Pitch Day competition on April 27.

The competition, which is sponsored by the REV-UP Center for Entrepreneurship, will also provide students with a platform to share their business visions with area professionals.

The event will run from 1-6 PM, and it will include a keynote address, two rounds of pitches, guest speakers, and a panel discussion. The top three pitches will receive awards, and first place will win a $500 cash prize.

“Student Pitch Day is great opportunity for students to gain experience in presenting their company concept, and we look forward to making this an annual event,” said Doug Schumer, faculty director for the center.

Participants will be judged both on their presentation skills and the future potential of their investment opportunity.
