The superb spirits created by Chester County’s first craft spirit distillery will soon be available in Center City, writes Kenneth Hilario for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

After only two years in operation, which includes working with large conglomerates like Pepsi and Nestlé, Phoenixville’s Bluebird Distilling is opening a retail location in Philadelphia’s center.

The distillery already offers its products in 140 restaurants throughout the region, but this will mark its first retail outlet in the city center.

The new store at The Shops at Liberty Place in Center City will include a pop-up tasting bar as part of the company’s expansion strategy for 2017.

According to Jared Adkins, Bluebird Distilling founder, the retail location in Center City will give the distillery an opportunity to interact with consumers and expose its brand to them.

“Three-fourths of my job is teaching the consumer what’s different about craft products,” said Adkins, “and explaining the process of how we make them.”

The location will also allow Adkins to get even more creative with his products. Currently, the distillery’s six products, with an additional one in production, are available in Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board stores.
