New York Performers, QVC Hosts Join Forces to Support Resident Theatre Company
The stars will shine a little brighter in West Chester tonight when the Resident Theatre Company (RTC) teams up with QVC personalities David Venable and Nancy Hornback for A Night of Kings, Queens, and Stars at the new Knauer Performing Arts Center.
Currently in rehearsal for RTC’s first production, Monty Python’s Spamalot, four of the show’s stars – including leads Mark Woodward and Lucas Poost – will take the stage with the QVC hosts to sing some of their favorite Broadway numbers.
“David and I are so excited to be getting back to our performing roots,” said Hornback. “I’d be lying if I didn’t say we were a little nervous. But we get to sing with these amazing pros in this terrific new space.”
“And we’re supporting the Resident Theatre Company,” said Venable. “So it’s kind of two for one for us.”
Rounding out the fundraising efforts will be a live auction hosted by yet another QVC star, Carolyn Gracie. Auction items include a private, behind-the-scenes tour of the prestigious Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., with tickets to see the long-running comedy hit Shear Madness and two VIP tickets to see the Hooters, local rock legends, with a post-show meet-and-greet.

For the Resident Theatre Company, tonight will be an opportunity to take to the stage in its new home on High Street, show off its talented performers to Chester County, and raise funds for its full season of shows beginning in the fall.
Artistic Director Kristin McLaughlin Mitchell has spent more than two decades on Broadway and traveling the world as a director and performer. She said, “Live theatre is something special, but it’s not always practical to run to the city to see a great show. RTC’s vision is to bring the talent here, and this is what we’re doing.”
Tickets for A Night of Kings, Queens, and Stars are on sale now for $45. They include an open bar with drinks provided by Boardroom Spirits and Iron Hill Brewery and food generously provided by Classic Diner, Teca, Spence Café, and many other local restaurants.
