CCIUThe Chester County Intermediate Unit provides services, such as special education and staff development programs, to the 12 school districts in Chester County, including nearly 86,000 public and non-public school students and more than 6,000 educators.

Special Events Coordinator

This position develops, coordinates, and implements county, regional, and statewide enrichment events, raises $105,000 annually through sponsorship, grant writing, and other fundraising activities, and recruits and supervises approximately 100 volunteers and 10 consultants a year.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in communications, education, or a related field, and three to five years of experience in event planning and management.

Communication Facilitator

This position supports student instruction, especially in the expansion of the signed communication system, supports educational staff in the development of their signing abilities, and facilitates all lectures, discussions, announcements, and related comments.

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma, experience as a communication facilitator, and knowledge of various visual communication modes.

Speech/Language Therapist

This position provides speech and language therapy services, completes evaluations, and maintains all paperwork for caseloads of students, including itinerant, classroom-based, telepractice, and birth-to-three services.

The ideal candidate will possess a master’s degree in communicative disorders, a certificate of clinical competence, a PDE instructional certificate, and Act 33 and 34 clearances.

Registered School Nurse

This position implements student health plans for secondary students, including special education students and health plans identified in IEPs, and provides first aid and emergency care within standing order guidelines for accidental injuries and illness.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in nursing, current registered nurse licensure, CPR and first aid training, and experience in a school setting with secondary students.
