Mixing a few historical ingredients with the revived new culture of Phoenixville has the potential to become a recipe for success at the soon-to-come Root Down Brewing Co.

The brewery is transforming the former Savoy Theater and Hires Root Beer plant into another new Phoenixville attraction at 1 North Main Street, just off the Schuylkill River Trail, according to a report in The Town Dish by Bryan Kolesar.

When Root Down opens in late spring or early summer, that legacy will grace the menu via the offering of Hires Root Beer and Orange Crush.

As for the beer, “the Root Series he hopes to develop will feature a more ‘standard-like’ set of beers. And an Alter Ego Series of beers is envisioned to take the Root Series beers and twist a thing or two about them – such as a hop, a grain, or a yeast – to constantly present something new and different to customers,” the article explained.
