2015_Drive_Chip__Putt_Logo_ConceptA driven third-grader from Chester County has reached the green of one of the country’s biggest youth golf tournaments, and this spring, he’ll try to sink a championship-worthy round on the very turf the sport’s greats compete upon.

Trevor Sikorski, 8, of the Avon Grove Intermediate School is the state’s lone competitor in the April 2 national finals of the Drive, Chip & Putt Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club, the site of The Masters, according to a Chester County Press report by Steven Hoffman.

“I can’t wait. It’s going to be a lot of fun,” Sikorski said.

After honing his skills with his dad and brother at his favorite local course, Moccasin Run in Atglen, as well as at Wyncote Golf Club and others, Sikorski placed second in a qualifier, first in the sub-regionals, and first in the regionals to earn his trip to Augusta.

“Trevor is very devoted to the sport,” his mother, Jodie, said. “He loves golf, and he works hard at it.”
