On the day before Super Bowl LI, an Exton-based authority in sports memorabilia auctions will start the bidding on a treasure trove of personal collectibles from football legend Brett Favre and Notre Dame icon Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger.

Hunt Auctions will once again partner with NFL Auction to host Feb. 4’s noon Super Bowl Live Auction in Houston.

“This year’s event promises to be an exceptional auction, highlighted by an incredible grouping of items from the personal collection of Brett Favre,” President David Hunt said in a Sports Collectors Daily preview by Rich Mueller. “We applaud the charitable work that Favre 4 Hope and NFL Auction conduct, and are humbled to be a small part of that process.”

The Hunt Auctions event will feature Favre awards, jerseys, a game ball, helmet, and cleats; Rudy’s game-worn helmet and jersey; and other items from Victor Cruz, Aaron Rodgers, J.J. Watt, Drew Brees, Derek Carr, inaugural NFL President Joseph Carr, and “Voice of the Buffalo Bills” Van Miller.

“There are certain moments that are truly larger than the sport they represent, and the story of Rudy Ruettiger is without question among the most iconic,” Hunt said of the man who inspired the famous 1993 movie.

“We are privileged to have been selected by Rudy and his team at Strategic Sports Management to present these two sports items of national significance with the succinct hope that they may bring further inspiration and awareness to the possibilities afforded through effort and never giving up.”
