Grackle Flying through Red Salvia by Robert Flatt is this year's featured work that best represents the mission of Art Ability.

Malvern’s Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital recently kicked off its 21st Annual Art Ability Exhibition and Sale to great success.

Art Ability is the nation’s largest exhibition and sale of art and fine crafts created by artists with cognitive, physical, hearing, and/or visual disabilities.

Over 300 people got the opportunity to enjoy the creative works of more than 200 artists with disabilities. Guests got to spend time with exhibiting artists and purchase some of the art before the exhibition was open to public the next day.

The exhibition and sale will last 12 weeks and features more than 400 artworks created by 202 artists from 30 states and abroad. It includes pieces made in media such as jewelry and fine crafts, sculpture, mixed media and photography, and canvas and paper.

“Art Ability focuses our appreciation, not on the artist’s disability, but, rather, their astounding artistic abilities,” said Sherman Fleming, Art Ability Curator.

The free exhibition is open daily to the public from 9 AM-5 PM until Jan. 29. All works are available for sale.
