Malvern’s ExtremeTerrain Donates Thousands to Philadelphia Outward Bound School

ExtremeTerrain's Mike Cunningham was voted to rappel the 2 Commerce Square building in Philadelphia by his fellow employees.

Eextreme-terrain-logoxtremeTerrain, the e-commerce retailer of aftermarket Jeep Wrangler parts, has announced its sponsorship of the Philadelphia Outward Bound School, a local charity which focuses on adventure-based education.

The Malvern company has donated $15,000 to the program and has also pledged to match up to $100,000 in donations made by its employees. The first donations will be used to send two classes of students on a backpacking or canoeing expedition of five days, where they will learn the skills necessary to assume leadership roles and positive approaches to life’s challenges, the core of Outward Bound’s philosophy.

ExtremeTerrain, which is a leader in providing enthusiasts with aftermarket Jeep Wrangler parts, expressed its pride in its work with Philadelphia Outward Bound School to help children head out to the wilderness and learn lifelong values and skills that will enrich their personal and professional lives.

Three ExtremeTerrain employees also accepted the challenge last month to participate in the program “Building Adventure,” which saw them rappel down 29 stories from atop a Center City skyscraper.

Along with the company’s co-founders Andrew and Steve Voudouris, the three employees were elected to join them through company-wide voting in which colleagues selected who most embodied ExtremeTerrain’s core values and ambitions.
