Citadel-Logo-TopThe Citadel Federal Credit Union has announced that its 2016 golf fundraiser, held at the Honeybrook Golf Club, raised more than $7,200 for the United Way of Chester County.

Citadel’s annual event brings employees and their families together for golf and barbecue, while raising funds to support the United Way. The goal of the fundraiser is to encourage employees to socialize and contribute to an important community cause.

“We’re very grateful for the support of Citadel employees from this event,” said Claudia Hellebush, President and CEO of the United Way of Chester County. “It’s wonderful to see an organization combine an annual social outing with a community fundraiser.”

As a community-based financial institution, Citadel encourages employees to give their time and talent to assist corporate partner organizations or non-profits of personal choice. Through Citadel’s volunteer program, employees volunteer hundreds of hours to community organizations.

“Citadel employees believe in the value of giving back to the community,” said Jim McCrudden, Vice President of Citadel. “When an event benefits an organization like the United Way, more staff attend. As an organization, we are inspired to lend support.”
