Anne Robinson to Lead Legal Department at Vanguard
Vanguard’s new general counsel is the mutual fund giant’s first African American executive. Anne E. Robinson has been hired to lead Vanguard’s Legal and Compliance Division starting in August, according to a Philly.com report by Joseph N. DiStefano.
“Anne Robinson is an ideal addition to Vanguard’s senior leadership team,” CEO Bill McNabb said in announcing the hiring. “Her expansive and varied legal experience in the financial services and consulting fields will be of great value to Vanguard and our clients.”
Robinson previously headed up Citigroup’s credit card legal affairs and has prior experience at American Express. She is a Hampton University and Columbia Law School alumna.
Robinson fills the void left by retired Vanguard General Counsel Heidi Stam after a nine-month executive search.
