West Chester University is the largest of the 14 public institutions in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education and the fourth-largest university in the Philadelphia area. WCU has approximately 14,000 students and is supported by 540 full-time and 270 part-time faculty members. The university has the following positions posted on its career page:

Tech Fee Support Specialist

This position is responsible for deploying, supporting, and maintaining campus technology software/hardware acquisitions. The primary responsibilities include providing technical expertise for the utilization of audio-visual/multimedia classroom support and university owned faculty/staff/student computers/tablets, printers, scanners, and software. He/she will test, troubleshoot, diagnose, and successfully configure hardware and software on the campus network and provide student/faculty/staff consultation and training as needed.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree, and have two years of technical support experience. Advanced knowledge of various types of multimedia equipment and software, desktop support, and network/wireless support is required.

Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions

This position will build relationships with community college counselors to assist in outreach to potential transfer students, and initiate and implement recruitment and yield activities for transfers. He/she will plan campus visitations for community college students and counselors, as well as other prospective and accepted transfer students. The person will initiate customer service strategies in order to be responsive to student expectations, and assist with the creation of any transfer-specific publications.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree with one or more of the following: professional work experience in higher education admissions, or experience working in a university state system environment. Experience with administrative software and document management for prospect and applicant management is preferred.

Architectural Designer

This position is responsible for field surveying, review of drawings and other documents, code analysis, and review. Other responsibilities include projects/studies varying in construction value from $500 to $50,000. He/she coordinates with University officials to ensure adequate customer input, professional planning and design, and timeliness of effort. The person protects the University’s financial and legal liabilities by avoiding breach of contracts, managing conflict resolution, and making timely decisions to avoid design delays or construction delays.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in architecture, architectural engineering, interior design, or a closely related field. He/she should have one year of professional architectural or interior design experience involving designing components of commercial, institutional, or educational buildings or structures.
