Meridian Bank has hired Tim Merrell as Senior Vice President of Payments, the division which provides business clients with customized card payment solutions.

Merrell brings with him more than 15 years of experience with financial institutions, cash management, government and escrow banking, as well as merchant services.  Before joining Meridian, Merrell was a Senior Vice President with Penn Liberty Bank.

Prior to Penn Liberty, Merrel was Senior Vice President and Director of Cash Management and Government Banking at Beneficial Bank where he was instrumental in building the sales, operations and service team which brought in over $1 billion in new deposits–$1 million in annual fee income.

“Tim brings a wealth of experience and market knowledge to Meridian and we’re thrilled to have him leading our payments group,” commented Meridian Bank CEO, Chris Annas.

Merrell, a graduate of Peirce College in Philadelphia, is a Certified Treasury Professional. He is also a member of numerous industry associations, including Association for Financial Professionals, Philadelphia Association for Financial Professionals, Government Finance Officers Association of PA, Electronic Transactions Association, and Merchants Acquirers’ Committee.

He also dedicates his time to helping in the community as a former Director at RSVP of Montgomery County and a member of the finance committee at St. Andrew’s Church.
