If you thought the Christmas display at Longwood Gardens was spectacular, get ready for the summer.
Longwood and the Klip Collective of Philadelphia plan to debut Nightscape: A Light and Sound Experience on July 1, giving visitors never-before-seen views of Longwood at night.
Nightscape will take guests on an immersive evening journey around the gardens where they will encounter moving imagery and light choreographed to music and brought to life by the natural canvas of Longwood’s plants, leaves, trees and lakes.
Paul B. Redman, executive director, said Klip is creating an imaginative visual and sound experience with Longwood as the inspiration and canvas.
“Our guests will journey through the landscape and encounter the beauty of the gardens in a new and memorable way, augmented by light, moving imagery, and sound,” Redman said.
Nightscape will include seven site-specific locations around the gardens including the Rose Arbor, Large Lake, Flower Garden Walk, Topiary Garden, and the grand Conservatory.
Klip Collective is a visual art shop bridging projection lighting, technology and storytelling. Hit play on the above video to see some of their fascinating visual work.
Ricardo Rivera, a Klip founding director, said Klip will use original scores from multiple composers and visitors may expect “an immersive experience on an epic scale.”
Nightscape will be on view July 1 through Oct. 31, 2015. Tickets go on sale March 2015.
