Founded in 1994, Home of the Sparrow partners with women facing homelessness to secure housing, achieve long-term stability, and chart new paths for their futures. HOS believes that every mother and her children have the right to a safe and stable place to call home. Their unique and innovative programs empower women with the skills they need to rebuild their lives and learn to support themselves and their families on their own.

Chief Executive Officer

This esteemed position will grow the legacy established by HOS’s staff members, board members, volunteers, and its community. The CEO provides leadership and direction for all HOS service initiatives, as well as current programs and services to ensure that the organization provides the highest quality of housing programs, supportive services, and education services for its clients.

Responsibilities include achievement of organization’s annual revenue plan and strategic initiatives, oversight of HOS programs and operations, board relations, and leadership, development, and retention of qualified staff. He/she will also engage and partner with Development on fundraising strategies and activities, and help with public relations.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field, and have at least 10 years of progressive management experience. He/she will be committed to the organization’s mission, and have broad knowledge of social service environment and services offered within Chester County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Furthermore, the candidate should have strong communications and interpersonal skills to work effectively with leadership team, Board of Directors, community partners, and general public. He/she should have the ability to provide visionary and organizational leadership, and have advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. The person must able to interpret, understand, and be accountable for financial statements and reports.
