After his team crushed their opponents in a Monday game, Villanova basketball coach Jay Wright got an additional reason to celebrate, as he was named an internal spokesman for the Wayne based cloud service company Evolve IP.

Wright has been Villanova’s head basketball coach for nearly fifteen years, boasting an enviable record of 315-151, including places at 10 NCAA Tournaments and a Final Four appearance.

“I’ve known the senior executive team at Evolve IP for more than 25 years and I am very proud to endorse their organization,” confirmed Wright. “The associates at Evolve IP not only provide award-winning cloud services that make their clients’ businesses better, they are dedicated to improving the communities in which they live and work.”

While he did not disclose the terms of the deal, Thomas J. Gravina, Chairman, CEO and Co-founder of Evolve IP did say that his relationship with Villanova’s coach goes back 30 years.

“I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Jay for a very long time,” he said. “We are very pleased to have a man of his quality of character and history of success being part of our team.”

Explaining the nature of Wright’s new position, Gravina pointed out that it will be on Wright to increase morale within the company, especially with its younger employees.

“He’s going to give speeches to our team and lay out his philosophy to our organization,” added the CEO. “We like the way he runs his program.”

The morale push is needed to help all the new employees fit in, as the company has been on a hiring spree of late. Evolve IP has pledged to add 80 new jobs early in the new year, and has also started to feel out the terrain on some of the niche markets that it is entering through its recent acquisitions.

The most recent example of this is the purchase of A.P.T., cloud services provider for veterinarians and pharmacists, making it its seventh acquisition in the past five years.
