An infusion of funding is helping boost the health of the Phoenixville community, and $360,000 in recent Phoenixville Community Health Foundation grants has put the organization’s total year-to-date giving at just shy of $2.5 million, according to a Phoenixville Patch report by Justin Heinze.
The three-tiered health foundation investment aims to “improve the health and quality of life for people in the greater Phoenixville region by increasing access to quality healthcare services and promoting healthy communities,” the article stated.
To that end, the health foundation placed $117,000 in the hands of groups that provide direct access to health care. Another $185,800 went to serve socially or economically at-risk, fragile or disabled people. And the final patch of groups received $57,000 for “civic, recreation, community and economic development, and nonprofit capacity building.”
