Kennett Square’s Pegasus Technologies and Plymouth Meeting’s Alura Business Solutions both leaders in IT-based security solutions and services, have announced their merger.

The company’s new name is Alura-Pegasus, and its employees will keep working out of offices in Kennett Square and Plymouth Meeting, allowing them to continue to efficiently serve clients from Dover to the Lehigh Valley, and from New Jersey to Lancaster.

Matthew Tucker of Pegasus will remain in his current role of CEO, while Alura founder Jason Derstine will do likewise as president.

“This merger is a perfect match as each company brings new value to the other,” said Tucker, whose business has grown in the last 13 years from two part-time workers to 21 full-time. “Whether it’s new IT services, customer service, business experience, or marketing, everything combines seamlessly into place.

“Our current and future clients will enjoy a number of benefits due to the merger and will sacrifice nothing, as Alura and Pegasus share identical core values when it comes to delivering support.”

Alura-Pegasus expects to take its quarter-century of combined experience in Managed Services and become a leader in its ever-changing industry. The new alignment brings the best practices of two organizations together, enabling it to provide an extensive portfolio of best in breed technologies while boasting seasoned management and technical staff.

“Nothing is more important to us than our clients’ satisfaction and over all experience, which has been a value since day one when I founded Alura,” said Derstine. “Our clients will be able to benefit immediately from Alura-Pegasus’s combined experience and personalized services.” Derstine’s business has grown from one part-time employee to 12 full-time over the past 10 years.

“This merger will also allow us to attract and retain the best of the best in the industry,” he said, “as we have in the past, and allow us to grow without sacrificing the level of customer service that got us both to where we are today.”
