Bradley Cooper with his mother Gloria on the red carpet.

If he was looking to delight his mother, Bradley Cooper probably chose his latest role as a QVC executive well.

In an appearance on the Late Night with Seth Mayers show where he was promoting ‘Joy’, the David O. Russell film about the Miracle Mop inventor Joy Mangano, Cooper confessed that his mother is a hugely devoted fan of the West Chester based television shopping network.

To the delight of the audience, Cooper recounted his mother’s passion for the hugely successful network, mentioning some of her most successful purchases and also some that she found a little disappointing once the product actually arrived.

“The arm looked really shiny but hers didn’t match it,” he told Seth Meyers.

The latest in the long line of purchases was appropriately showcased at the movie premiere on Sunday, as Gloria Cooper accompanied her son sporting an “Audrey Hepburn brooch” direct from QVC, something she kept pointing out throughout the evening.

That was not the only thing she had bought lately through the service however, said Cooper. With an incredulous look he proceeded to explain one of her latest “discoveries”.

“I bought this great device, when you’re driving in the car, it can tell you how to get to the place,” he recounted her words. When questioned by her confused son about whether it was Google Maps or a GPS device, she was delighted to proclaim that “It’s a device I can carry around with me!”
