All three County Commissioners retained their offices after Tuesday night’s election.

The current Chester County Commissioners received a vote of confidence in Tuesday’s election by amassing thousands more votes than the nearest challenger.

Republicans Terence Farrell and Michelle Kichline collected the strongest support, each with 27 percent of the vote total, according to a Daily Local News article based on 69 percent of precincts reporting. Democrats Kathi Cozzone came in third, at 24 percent, and Bill Scott unofficially missed the cut at 20 percent.

“The re-election of Commissioners Farrell and Cozzone and the election of Kichline was hardly a surprise, given that the county is in good financial shape and there are no noticeable wedge issues that would give Scott an opening to displace one of the two Republicans,” the article stated.

“The county has maintained a low property tax rate while still moving forward on publicly popular initiatives such as a new emergency radio system, a functioning Public Safety Training Center, and continued efforts to preserve open space and to bolster urban centers across the county.”

Farrell is a two-term commissioner and a former recorder and Prudential Fox & Roach real estate agent. Kichline is an appointed commissioner and a former Tredyffrin supervisor and Wisler Pearlstine municipal lawyer. Cozzone is a two-term commissioner and a former Rodale business manager. Scott is a longtime West Chester Borough Councilman.
