Pennsylvania Bio Appoints Five New Board Members

Pennsylvania Bio has appointed five new Board members. The newest additions to the board of the statewide trade association representing the Commonwealth’s life sciences community are Brian K. Halak, John Hubbard, David H. Ledbetter, Bruce J. Shook, and Bryan Wolf.

Brian Halak, Ph.D.
Brian Halak, Ph.D.

Brian K. Halak, Ph.D., is a Partner at Domain Associates and previously worked as an associate with Advanced Technology Ventures and a consultant at the Wilkerson Group. He is also a member of the Advisory Board for the Department of Bio-Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania.

John Hubbard.

Dr. John Hubbard is the President and CEO of BioClinica a leader in the Clinical Services and Biopharmaceutical R&D industry. His three decades of experience includes executive level positions at Pfizer, ICON, Parexel and Hoechst Marion Roussel Pharmaceuticals.

David Ledbetter, PhD
David Ledbetter, PhD

Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer at Geisinger Health System, Dr. David H. Ledbetter’s experience includes the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. Dr. Ledbetter has made significant scientific discoveries during his career, and has been a strong advocate of genomic data-sharing to accelerate knowledge and improve patient care.

Bruce Shook.
Bruce Shook.

Bruce Shook became the President and CEO of the Wayne based Intact Vascular, Inc after co-founding Neuronetics in 2003. His extensive career includes positions in engineering, clinical research and regulatory affairs with Cordis Corporation.

Wolf
Bryan Wolf.

Bryan Wolf is the Chief Scientific Officer and Executive Vice President at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Director of the CHOP Research Institute. In his position he serves as the institutional leader representing CHOP in the CDRN Steering Committee and governance activities.

All five new members were warmly welcomed and bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience that should help Pennsylvania Bio make further strides in the Commonwealth’s life science community.

“On behalf of the Pennsylvania Bio Board of Directors, we are honored to welcome five industry leaders whose leadership, expertise and dedication will be essential assets to the Board of Directors and the Association,” stated Robert Bazemore, Chair of the Pennsylvania Bio Board of Directors and President & CEO of Epizyme.

Pennsylvania Bio President and CEO, Christopher P. Molineaux, continued with the praise, stating that “as the trade association for the life sciences in Pennsylvania, including biopharma, medical devices, diagnostics and digital health, these additions to our Board present opportunities for both the industry and health systems to work together to ensure Pennsylvania is a global leader in the life sciences.”
