New Transportation Policy Guidebook Available for Chester County
The new Multi-Modal Circulation Handbook for Chester County has been published and made available as a pdf file for download.
This handbook was prepared by the Chester County Board of Commissioners and the Chester County Planning Commission to provide municipal officials, designers, planners and other key areas with a complete reference guide on how to accommodate all types of transportation into land use and land development design.
The handbook is used to help municipal officials establish policy level direction for their communities, identifying commonly accepted design standards and to provide continuity in development as well as a myriad of related topics.
Successfully managing growth is one of the key goals of the County’s strategic VISTA 2025 plan. “Chester County continues to be one of the fastest growing counties in the state, and providing amenities like sidewalks, bus shelters, trails and bike racks alongside public transportation and cars are key ingredients of successful development projects that will help us with that growth,” says Commissioner Kathi Cozzone.
