Being popular has its perks, and the man at the helm of the world’s fast-accelerating mutual fund ship is not only vastly popular with investors but also with his employees.

Malvern-based Vanguard Group’s CEO Bill McNabb was just named among an elite group of the most well-liked American corporate leaders based on Glassdoor reviews posted over the past year.

After hundreds of ratings, McNabb notched No. 38 on the prestigious Highest-Rated CEOs 2015 list with the favor of 90 percent of his workforce, up from just making the list in 2014 at No. 48, when 79 percent approved of the job he was doing.

His 2015 status put McNabb in higher esteem than the masterminds at Intel, Quicken Loans, Adobe, Delta and Marriott, among others.

“They all share a very clear vision for their company and communicate this vision to employees, including how all employees play a pivotal role in reaching company goals,” Glassdoor Community Expert Scott Dobroski said of the top 50 CEOs in Fast Company’s coverage of the list. “This really motivates a workforce to know what they need to do and why.”

The ranking is part of the Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards and is calculated from anonymous and voluntary employee reviews.
