The real magic behind a Phoenixville area early learning center that has tripled its staff over the past nine years and now touches the lives of nearly 100 students at a time is its energetic commitment to learning through play, its passionate staff and its innovative collaboration with business mentors and school teachers.

Magic Memories Child Development Center Owner Neydary Zambrano said SCORE mentors and resources have long guided her successful trajectory and helped navigate a building renovation, expansion project and enrichment collaboration with a local school district, according to a recent Daily Local News report.

“All throughout those times I really relied on SCORE to be a sounding board and to support me through that process,” Zambrano said in the article.

She was honored Thursday with one of three SCORE Small Business Achievement Awards.

“These are successful businessmen and women who have had so much experience, so for me, it’s really an honor to be recognized as a good business leader,” she said. “I really look up to them. That they are giving back to the community in this way is amazing as well.”

Zambrano has translated their advice into a business that replicates a homelike setting and focuses on creativity and individual attention to each child’s developmental needs.
