Public’s Turn To Punch The Ticket On New Coatesville Train Station Plans
Leaders and public officials have long whistled promises for a new Coatesville train station, and on Wednesday its citizens will have a chance to see for themselves what exactly is rolling down the tracks.
Detailed plans for the train station, streetscape renovation along Third Avenue and proposed new career education and entrepreneurial center will be open for inspection, questions and comments from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Olivet United Methodist Church.
“For years, citizens and city residents have called for revitalization in Coatesville. The new train station is the key to that rebirth,” state Sen. Andy Dinniman said in an announcement of the open house. “Community involvement continues to play a key role in Coatesville’s future. If you have something to say or an idea about how to improve the train station, I encourage you to come out to the upcoming meeting and play a hands-on role in the redevelopment of your city.”
Members of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation design team for the project will present information on the proposed improvement plan, discuss the project’s objectives and address questions or concerns from the public.
