Handi-Crafters Assembles Big Business Partnerships
Three big names in Chester County business are chipping in to help the area’s premier disability-focused employer develop and maximize its employees’ potential.
Since January, Herr’s Snack Foods has dropped potato chips off at Handi-Crafters in Thorndale for conversion from boxes to cases, which are then shipped to retailers for sale.
“We are excited to partner with Herr’s,” National Sales Manager Lauren Rolland said in Handi-Crafters’ June e-magazine. “This is a fantastic large-order job, and we are thrilled.”
Meanwhile, real estate developer the Hankin Group and software company Bentley Systems will lead dozens of other businesses and hundreds of golfers in chipping in some green for the Handi-Crafters cause.
The pair of Exton firms are back for another round after the corporate golf outing they hosted last year “exceeded expectations” by drawing 228 participants from almost 80 companies and raising nearly $195,000, according to Hankin Group COO Michael Hankin in the e-magazine.
“This was a terrific experience for Handi-Crafters,” its executive director, Amy Rice, said in the article. “We are incredibly honored to be the recipient of this impressive day. The money that is raised from this event not only positively impacts our bottom line, it helps to spread awareness of our mission and the extraordinary individuals we serve.”
This year’s golf tournament is set for Monday, Oct. 5.
“It feels like we are scoring the ultimate hole-in-one for Handi-Crafters,” Rice said.
