Covered Bridge: ROAR For Good, Remembering Christopher Lee, and Digital Vintage

For this Thursday’s Covered Bridge “Video Edition” we’re bringing you the good, the bad and the oldies.

ROAR For Good

Can Wearable Tech Combat Sexual Assault? That’s the question Fast Company is asking in an article on Philadelphia’s Roar For Good. Jasmine Mustafa is working with her team to develop chic, smart jewelry that protects women from assault. When activated, the jewelry sends GPS information to authorities and family members. Check out the news profile below.

RIP Christopher Lee

Young movie-goers will remember him as Saruman from Lord of the Rings or Count Dooku from Starwars, and many more will never forget his other roles over the decades. Lee never shied away from playing the darker characters. His filmography reads almost like a child’s list of Halloween costumes: Dracula (twice), Frankenstein, and Rasputin. The actor died this morning at the age of 93. Relive his best work below.

“Digital Vintage”

I suppose we really are living in the future if we can stroll into Computer Museums. The New York Times looks at the world of vintage computer collectors.

Be sure to check in with Covered Bridge again tomorrow when we’ll be writing about the best things to read over the weekend.
