PennDOT Asks For Transportation To-Do Lists Via Online Meeting

By

We all have opinions about what road in Chester County really needs help, and now we have a chance to put those pet peeves on the radar screen of the agency that can get them taken care of.

Whether you voice your opinion before, during or after the one-hour interactive online public meeting April 16 at 7 p.m., the State Transportation CommissionPennsylvania Department of Transportation and 24 regional planning partners are gathering input for an update to the commonwealth’s Twelve Year Transportation Program.

“In the past, we gathered feedback for our long-term planning through public meetings that our customers couldn’t always attend,” PennDOT Secretary and STC Chairwoman Leslie S. Richards said in an announcement. “The modernized process we started a few years ago lets the public share their priorities and comments with us at their convenience, which ensures we have more comprehensive feedback as we begin developing our plan.”

The live webcast will provide an update on the state’s recently released Transportation Performance Report and then host a period of public comments and answers to questions. Decisions on the state’s transportation priorities are then made by the STC, a 15-member commission that includes Richards, 10 private citizens appointed by the governor and the majority and minority chairs of the state Senate and House Transportation Committees.

Register to participate here or submit questions in advance to ra-penndotstc@pa.gov; you can also offer your feedback online via a survey from April 16 through May 29 or on paper by emailing ra-penndotstc@pa.gov or calling 717-787-2913 to request a printed survey copy.
