Vanguard’s Hot New Wealth Management Program Propels Its Leader To Promotion

By

The soaring fortunes of the Vanguard Group’s new high-tech wealth management offering has propelled an 18-year veteran into direct contact with the Malvern mutual fund giant’s CEO, Bill McNabb.

With her investment advice division hitting $5 billion and grabbing the attention of the registered investment advisor world, Karin Risi has been promoted from leading Vanguard Personal Advisor Services to overseeing the firm’s $1.26 trillion retail investment group.

“Karin’s leadership skills and deep experience in various client-service roles will be vitally important as we continue to seek to lower the cost and complexity of investing for individuals saving for retirement, college, and other goals,” McNabb said in an RIA Biz report. “In particular, she will continue to focus on making investment advice more accessible and affordable to our clients in an effort to give them a better chance for long-term investment success.”

Risi’s recipe for success with VPAS combined online questionnaire technology with personal phone calls and low fees, another RIA Biz article noted.
